Welcome to Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists (OTs) work to enable children to participate in their activities of everyday life. For a child or young person this may include self-care (washing, dressing, eating a meal, toileting, preparing a snack/meal), participating in school or nursery (handwriting, PE, play skills) and engaging in activities of interest (hobbies, doing sports, leisure activities).

Our service sees children and young people with a wide range of differing physical and learning needs including conditions such as  cerebral palsy, Down's Syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder, muscular dystrophy, co-ordination difficulties, developmental delay and many more.

All our therapists are HCPC registered with specialist knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of children and young people.

Where appropriate, we may do some joint working with our therapy colleagues (physiotherapy and speech and language therapy), as well as colleagues from other agencies such as education and social care.
