Who we are

Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE) is an award winning social enterprise, providing more than 40 NHS community healthcare services, predominantly to the population of North East Essex (Colchester and Tendring Districts).

We also provide Learning Disabilities Therapy, some Specialist Nursing and Health and Well-Being Services in North East Essex, Mid Essex, West Essex, South Essex, South West Essex and West Essex. Further information on all of the services we provide can be found under our Health Services pages.

ACE has a history of safe, efficient service delivery and each year we generate income approaching £57 million and employ over 1,150 staff.

We are a community interest company, limited by shares and employee owned.  This means that all of our staff are able to hold a share in the organisation.  This does not mean that they get any financial benefit such as a dividend, but they are able to have a voice in the decision making of the organisation.

As well as our staff, we want to involve patients and the community in key decisions of the organisation, we are continually developing ways in which people can be involved, for example:

  • Receiving ACE’s quarterly newsletter – ACE Matters
    Email:  Info@acecic.nhs.uk or telephone 0843 507 3600

  • Joining ACE’s Patient Panel – if you or a member of your family have used our services and would like to share your views to guide us on how we can continue to improve the services we deliver. If you are interested, please click here

As a social enterprise, we are able to reinvest any surplus we make each year back into service development and to provide funding to support local community projects. Please see page for further details on our Social Impact Plan.

We are proud to be one of the Department of Health's First Wave Right to Request Projects and also a Cabinet Office Mutuals Pathfinder Organisation.  You can find out more at: http://mutuals.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/studies/ace-case-study
