Craig Comes Back

And Ronnie Returns!

Clacton H4L A Squad:

Craig Organ (GK)

Tom Nicks (c)

Ronnie Holloway

Tony Tully

Alex Green

Harry Walden

Greg Lark

Clacton were very nearly without a goalkeeper for this tournament. Kyle Thompson, their regular keeper announced at the last minute that he wasn't able to make the tournament making it look like Harry was almost certain to have to deputise. However, Clacton were given Craig back from Colchester. Ronnie Holloway also came back. This was a relief as Robbie Ratcliffe was also unable to attend due to injury and without Ronnie Clacton would have been a man down. Ronnie, who hasn't played much Premiership football, had a brilliant day, partnering Tom in defence. Greg who usually partners Tom was moved upfront to replace Robbie's usual position of centre forward.

Clacton had a relatively decent performance, with two wins, two draws, and one defeat but no clean sheets. The draws were the first draws in the Premiership this season. Sadly Clacton conceded the equalisers in both of them though.

Chelmsford Mencap                                2-1                                          Alex, Harry

Clacton had beaten Chelmsford Mencap 4-1 in both of the previous tournaments. This time they went 2-0 up with Alex taking the lead then Harry doubling it soon after. The game wasn't as easy as in previous tournaments as CM pulled one back with time to spare, and Clacton failed to restore their two goal lead but thankfully failed to concede an equaliser.

Colchester Healthy 4 Life                       1-1                                                      Tully

Clacton had won this game 5-0 in September and lost it 3-2 in October. Today they achieved the first Premiership draw of the season, with Tully opening the scoring then Col H4L equalising soon after.

Porters                                                         3-1                                          Greg x2, Tully

Porters had failed to attend the October tournament, crediting all the other teams with an automatic 3 points. In September though Clacton won 6-1. It wasn't long until Clacton were 2-0 up, with Harry assisting Greg in both of them. Tom then set up Tully for a third, before Porters pulled one back towards the end.

Colchester Disability 4 Sport                1-1                                                      Tully

Clacton had beaten D4S with clean sheets in both of the previous tournaments. In this tournament though D4S came out top and were the only team to avoid defeat. However, Tully managed to give Clacton the lead but what was heart breaking was that the final whistle was blown instantly after D4S scored their equaliser.

Colchester Deaf                             1-2                                                      Greg

CD are new to the league this season, but are also an 11 a-side team. Although Clacton won 2-0 in September, they lost 2-0 in October. This time they went 1-0 down before Greg managed to find an equaliser. Unfortunately though this wasn't enough as CD still managed to find a winner.
