Harry's Match Report - December 2015

Essex Soccability League December 2015

Clacton Fire Four!

Clacton H4L A Squad:

Greg Lark (c)

Kyle Thompson

Tom Nicks

Harry Walden

Jordan Ovenden

Fred Pennick

Reece Bolton

Clacton had made an outstanding start to the season and were still unbeaten at the start of the tournament, having played 12, won 9, drawn 3, scoring 13 and conceding just 1. However this time they had 4 absentees with Tony Tully unable to make the tournament, and Stefano Carnevale, Alex Seymour, and Robbie Ratcliffe all out injured. Although Jordan Ovenden was back Clacton were still a man down and so Fred Pennick from Colchester H4L took part in some of their fixtures, playing a key part. Greg and Kyle swapped positions with Greg playing in goal and Kyle centre back. Despite the injuries Clacton still did very well, although encountered their first defeat of the season. Once the tournament was over it was half-way through the season, with 4 tournaments played and 4 remaining.

Cerebral Palsy Disability 4 Sport                                 3-0                  Not attending

CP D4S weren't attending the tournament. It was probably an automatic 3-0 victory, as when a team doesn't attend a tournament that is what all the other teams are usually credited with. Clacton would probably have won as they have a 100% record, scoring 5 and conceding 0.

Porters A                                                                 4-0                  Fred x2, Reece x2

It was an amazing result for Clacton's first game, with Fred making a fantastic debut and scoring a brace, along with Reece. The highest score in the league prior to this game was a 3-0 victory by Colchester D4S A against CP D4S back in September, and for Clacton 2-0, which they had achieved 3 times. The result also extended Clacton's unbeaten run to 13 games.

Colchester Healthy 4 Life                                               0-1

As Fred plays for Colchester H4L he played against Clacton in this game and so Clacton only had 6 players for this game. As a result of this Colchester took a player off the pitch. It was a very competitive game and Clacton nearly got managed a draw until Fred scored the winner for Colchester late on. Although the result ended Clacton's unbeaten start to the season it was only the second goal conceded all season. It also just so happened to be Fred who scored the first, when Clacton went behind in a 2-1 victory against Colchester back in October.

Colchester Disability 4 Sport A                                    0-0

Fred was back in the Clacton squad for this game, but it ended goalless.
