  Essex Soccability League October 2014

Clacton H4L A Squad:

Neil Johnson (GK)

Greg Lark (c)

Harry Walden

Stephano Carnevale

Jordan Ovenden

Robbie Ratcliffe

Luke Thomas

Clacton got off to a very poor start last season but did much better this time. They had no subs as defender Tom Nicks and forward Dave Ashmore were unable to make the tournament. Midfielder Ronnie Holloway was also playing for Colchester as they were a man down. Neil Johnson was playing in goal for Clacton in this tournament as Kyle Thompson wasn't attending this tournament. The squad put an outstanding performance together, coming second best, scoring the most goals but unlucky not to come first, due to Tendring Mental Health scoring a late winner in the last few seconds of the game.

Colchester H4L A       3-1                   Robbie x2, Luke

Colchester were missing one of their best players but opened the scoring early on. However, Robbie equalised for Clacton soon after, Luke then gave Clacton the lead, and Robbie then doubled it to give the team a positive start.

Disability 4 Sport 2-0 Luke, Robbie

Clacton's league record against D4S has varied over the past, with some wins, draws, and defeats. The first goal came when Harry won possession of the ball, taking it down the left wing to send it into Luke who was one on one with the keeper in the box, and sent it into the back of the net. The second goal came in a similar way. Luke had possession of the ball near the left corner flag, and the goalkeeper came out of his area to try and win it off him. Luke then sent the ball into Robbie, who was facing a completely open goal and of course had no difficulty in doubling Clacton's lead

Tendring Mental Health          2-3 Luke x2

TMH are the current champions, and have always been Clacton's toughest opponents. Today they only had 6 players so Clacton had to drop one, with Jordan not taking part in this game. Luke opened the scoring for Clacton, but Tendring won a penalty for a handball against Greg and equalised. Luke restored Clacton's lead soon after but Tendring still managed to equalise, and then with just seconds remaining they found a winner, with the ref blowing for full time as soon as Clacton had taken the centre kick.

Porters A 5-0 Robbie, Luke x3, Harry

Porters were a new team to the league this and Clacton studied them carefully to see what they were like.  Robbie opened the scoring soon after kickoff and Luke then got a second not long after. Harry headed in a third with Luke then getting two more goals to complete his hat trick.
