Continence Home Visits/Residential Homes

This service provides assessment, conservative treatment and review for bladder and bowel problems, usually including incontinence for housebound men and women, in their own homes and in residential care. Advice is given to patients and/or to carers and provision of continence products (pads) when appropriate. Community Nurses manage initial assessment for patients who they visit, the Continence Team then review. The specialist Learning Disability continence nurse provides a service for patients with moderate and severe Learning Disability.

Who is your service provided for?

All adults living in North East Essex, or served by a GP in NE Essex, who have bladder and/or bowel problems and who cannot get to a clinic.

When is the service provided? 
9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

How do you access the service?
Referrals from GPs, other health and social care professionals, or just phone and self-refer.
