ACE MAPS provides an evidence based treatment and advice service for patients with musculoskeletal problems. Typical problems treated include:

  • Frozen shoulder/shoulder injuries/shoulder pain
  • Knee pain/injuries/Osteoarthritis
  • Ankle sprain, including Achilles tendinopathy
  • Foot pain, including Plantar Fasciitis
  • Muscle injuries
  • Elbow pain, including Tennis and Golfer's elbow
  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome
  • Hand and wrist pains, including Trigger finger and De Quervain's tenosynovitis
  • Sports type injuries and problems that are not responding to RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation)
  • And more complex sport pain syndromes.

We also provide Spinal Service where GP referrals are triaged by our Spinal Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP) physiotherapists. Patients are seen by ESPs. Patient cases are then discussed at Spinal Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDT) with Consultant Spinal Surgeon, Pain specialist and ESPs.

The service offers clinics in several locations. The interventions aim to be responsive to the needs of the patients and provide a clear concise individual education programme based on patient needs. The aim is to maximise independence and to reduce patients’ symptoms and pain.   Treatments will include assessment, advice, joint and muscle injections. A referral to physiotherapy and podiatry can be organised when necessary.
